Savvy Happenings!

So much happening at Savvy....where do I start?!

Head over here to the Savvy blog and find out what we're doing with our Design Team...one going, one staying, one changing their role...and two newbies just to bring us some excitement!  This is all in line with our recent forum closure and us now keeping everything on the Blog or Facebook page, keeping with the times we call it!

And just to keep the excitement rolling, we are cybercropping for a WEEK starting TODAY!

All the other challenges have started to be posted on the Blog and also on our Facebook Event if you want to check them out.

Here's mine...

This time I'm bringing you a Quote Challenge.  You must use the following quote somewhere on your page...be it your title, subtitle or even journalling, up to you!

'A Thing of Beauty is a Joy Forever'

And my take, a beautiful photo of my baby girl taken by my friend Loz from Red Door Photography.  I love the Swirly Garden template I've used with mist on the background, one of my faves!

My quote, using Thickers for the main words and OA Mini Market alphas for the smaller ones.

Loved this gorgeous Kaiser range that I actually picked up from my LSS Scrapbooking Delights, these word stickers had so many uses!

Upload your take to the Scrapbook Savvy Gallery by midnight next Thursday 2 May for your chance to win some Savvy spending money!!

My Blind Scrap Reveal!

Another FAB blind scrap at Scrapbook Savvy last week, this time on our Facebook event which was really fun and much easier to keep up with than on our forum, which has now been closed as we are finding it much easier to keep up with everyone these daysvia Facebook or on our Scrapbook Savvy Blog.

My page was a pic of Georgia on Xmas Day 2011, surrounded by all her new toys using some A Lil Somethin with their gorgeous buttons & banners...

Cute bow from a recent Savvy Kit, and some super cute chevron wood veneer from Studio Calico...

The story...

If you'd like to see how everyone else interpreted my instructions, check out all the gorgeous layouts uploaded to the Savvy Blog here.

Make sure you stay tuned for the next blind scrap challenge, where you get to scrap with step by step instructions all the while not knowing what the end result will be.  So fun!

Donna's Sketch @ SFS

Its been a big week, but I finally managed to get a layout uploaded to the SFS gallery for their Easter Crop-a-thon held last weekend, only a few hours before deadline!

Donna created the sketch for Monday's challenge, and I managed a layout using some old October Afternoon 5 & Dime...and a photo of ME when I was little!

Me & My Pillow...

A bit of a closeup.  I still have to ask Mum just how old I was in this pic as I'm not too sure...

Thanks Peta & Donna for the inspiration, another layout crossed off the list!

April's BIG Savvy Sketch Challenge

It was Kerryn’s turn this month to peruse the gallery to find an inspiring page from one of our members and this month she chose a simple but gorgeous page created by Chloe titled ‘Sick’…

Here is the sketch Kerryn has designed from Chloe’s page, which now becomes our BIG Savvy Sketch for April…
I scrapped my layout a couple of weeks back at retreat, and used one of the gorgeous new Collectable Kits from My Minds Eye, some of which you’ll still find over in the store. My page is called ‘Snort’ and features my crazy middle daughter Georgia in one of her laughing fits…the snort she does, omg its hysterical…and she keeps it going much longer than it needs to just to make us all laugh even more!

And a closeup of my journalling to tell my story…

Make sure you upload your take in our Gallery before the end of the month for your chance to win the BIG SAVVY PRIZE of $40 to spend in the store PLUS FREE POSTAGE AUSTRALIA WIDE!

So much new stock on its way, you’d be crazy to not want a voucher to spend!

Happy Scrapping peeps!

Tara's Easter Cybercrop Challenge

Can't believe I've actually done all the challenges for our Easter Cybercrop....since when does THAT happen?!  I don't know whats going on, but I'm not complaining.... ;)

Tara's Challenge this month was a Recipe Challenge and you had to include the following items on your layout:

* ONE black and white photo
* Washi tape
* Banners
* A punch or die cut element

I searched and searched for a black & white photo in my kits, and lo & behold found this one....in a kit from way back when I went to a retreat in 2009!  Could not believe this was the kit I pulled out...anyone who knows me understands just how many kits I have here half used and I love the 'lucky dip' and seeing what I get...but this scared me!  But anyway, a challenge may as well be challenging eh?  So off I went on my scrapping journey and was actually REALLY happy with what I ended up with!  Was interesting scrapping with OLD product but NEW techniques....old is new again it seems!

Masquerade...

A closeup of my journaling and a super cute embellishment from Charms Creations.  This also shows my punched element being a strip just under my title that I've attacked with a border punch...

My banner, and washi, and a big spray of mist for effect!

And I just had to show this....when I punched my strip there were hundreds of little dots that punched out and were left on my desk....so I dotted some glue on my background and chucked them on!  Love how this turned out...adding to the dotted effect of the mist, but with some dimension.

There is still time to play along with our cybercrop, all the challenges are over on the Savvy Blog and you can upload to the gallery for your chance to win before midnight Thursday 4 April.

Time for this scrapper to head to bed, goodnight!

Kerryn's Easter 54321 Challenge

The Savvy Cybercrop is still happening over on Facebook, we are blind scrapping tonight so head on over and join in the fun!

Kerryn's Challenge this time was a 54321 Challenge consisting of different shapes we had to use, the full details are over here on the Scrapbook Savvy blog.

I managed to get this one scrapped and will be moving on to Tara's Challenge later tonight.  Here's my take on Kerryn's criteria...

Messy Maker, using another Storyboard Kit I picked up at retreat last weekend.

My squares and my 'star'...

Some of my cirlces, together with a gorgeous metal butterfly and some journal strips to tell my story...

My title, my trianges and some more of my buttons...

Totally loving my page, more old photos scrapped and stories told, thanks Kerryn!

If you'd like to play along, make sure you upload your take to the Savvy Gallery before midnight THIS THURSDAY 4 April.
