Its done!!

Yep, thats right....my 52 weeks album for 2010 is FINISHED!!! I'm so proud of myself. Despite all the things I wish I'd done this year, or resolutions I made and didn't stick to...this one is actually completed, totally. Go me! :D

Here are the final few pages...

These two were made using the brand new October Afternoon Schoolhouse range in store at Scrapbook Savvy. As you can see, you don't HAVE to use it for school photos at all.

Week 46 - Back To The Real World about me starting my new job and how much I love it!

Week 50 - A Night With Jack Johnson about the weekend Dan & I recently spent in Sydney.

This next one is using the most recent She's Savvy kit, which is still available!

Week 51 - Delightfully Savvy Christmas Party about the night out San & I had with some of our girls at the Villains. xx

And last but not least, my final page using some of the WRMK & Jillibean Christmas ranges from Scrapbooking Delights.

Week 52 - The Big Day using the usual selfie of my beautiful family taken on special occasions, this one obviously being Christmas morning.

Have I mentioned that I will totally be doing this again? I love it, having this little album of our year in one place. The first photo for the next album will be taken at midnight tonight. :)

Its New Years Eve here and we're just about to start getting organised for the big party tonight. Off to have coffee with Leesh first and then some groceries, before I start cooking and getting this house in order! Should be a top night, can't wait to spend it with my friends. xx

The kids are totally loving having Donna & the girls staying with us! Here's a couple of pics from our visit to the pools yesterday while the little girls were at daycare.

Happy New Year blogger friends, enjoy! I hope 2011 is amazing (for you & me!). ;)

2 Down...3 To Go!

An awesome day with an (over)booked out crop day! San & I were in the VIP room (hehe!) while the other girls scrapped the day away in the shop, kids running in & out and causing havoc, but it was all good! Can't wait for the next one. :)

I did manage two more layouts for my 52 Weeks album, so only three to go and I'm done.

Week 44 - SFS Fun! A page about Peta's retreat at the end of October, always such an awesome weekend.

Week 49 - We Decorated The Tree using the new Christmas range in store at Savvy - Fancy Pants Tradition.

I am so very excited because my beautiful cousin Donna managed to escape this in Dalby...

...and will be here with us tomorrow! Donna, Craig & the kids are staying for a week and its going to be so nice to just chill out, do some scrapping and be altogether as a family. xx

Nearing the end...

...of my 52 Weeks album! I am aiming to have this album totally finished by Friday to show off at my New Years Eve party, wish me luck! Here's the latest few...

Week 45 - Thirty! of me at my birthday party. This one is a Got Sketch sketch.

Week 47 - Convoy For Kids of Dan & the kids at the Camp Quality Convoy when the kids were checking out Adam's truck, such a great day! I used a Pagemaps 8.5x11 sketch for this one.

Week 48 - Scraploot Christmas Party Crop, such a hilarious night! Another one from a Pagemaps sketch.

Only maybe five or six layouts and my album is done, do you think I can do it????

Page #400 for 2010 and Xmas Faves!

Its done!!! Layout #400 for 2010 with the crazy criteria from the Savvy forum girls of:

1. a splash of purple
2. boy photo with flowers
3. no journalling
4. polka dots
5. at least two photos

As you can imagine, when I pulled this criteria out of the hat I was kinda scared!! But I got to it on Tuesday at crop, and have only just today had a chance to finish it off! And I love it!

I must admit I was looking at it thinking....mmmm, does it need more? I did a bit of a blog hop and ended up at Tara's blog, and stole some of her paint inspiration to finish my page. Paint isn't something I use on my layouts, but I gave it a shot and like the result. Think I'll have to give this a go more often. Thanks Tara!

Anyway, here's my page - using a super long title seeing as I could't journal! All the other criteria is there with lots of other elements thrown in.

A close up my title - I LOVE black alpha, and the versatility of being able to mix & match different alphabets, adding interest and getting you out of trouble when you don't have that one letter you NEED!

And my handmade flower - I made this using the lesson by Anthea, but with fabric instead of twill ribbon.

Its been an awesome Boxing Day here - pjs till lunchtime, lots of sitting on the floor playing with my babies, nana naps, movies, scrapping and nibbling on xmas treats. LOVE Boxing Day as a wind down after the excitement of Christmas....whoever thought up this public holiday did us all a good deed, I reckon!

And because I didn't get here yesterday with my traditional early morning blog post - here are some of my fave pics from our awesome Christmas Day.

Our obligatory family shot of all of us taken every birthday, easter and xmas with the self timer and camera sitting on the steps!

Cooper, totally stoked with this DS from Santa. In his words to me last night - "Mum, this is my best Christmas EVER". The words every parent wants to hear after all the effort of Christmas is over and done with.

Both of my boys, SO excited with receiving Nerf guns from Santa with a note that there was one for each of them so they could play together. And they did! Including an ambush of Poppy when he arrived. Hehe, that was fun to watch!!

Georgie VERY impressed with the Barbie Car and Barbies galore that Poppy gave her!

LOVE this photo of Georgie thanking her Poppy, so sweet.

Bronte very intrigued with her new Baby Tiana (or Baby Oprah as Dan calls her, lol!).

Uncle Rob being ambushed during the water pistol battle!

A great day with lots of fun in the sun at my sister Nic & Rob's place, and a relaxing night of beer & prawns with Daniel's sister Kaz & Scotty at our place. Gotta love Christmas in Australia!! Hope you enjoyed yours and the next few days of relaxion in the leadup to new year. I'm not back at work until the day after Georgie's birthday so 6th Jan, nearly two weeks off, and I plan on enjoying every minute of it! Till next time. xx

Too good an opportunity to miss so don't forget to follow & leave me some love on THIS POST before 1st January 2011! xx

And because I can't go without sharing a layout...here's one I recently finished using the current She's Savvy Kit. Yeh...I know its a weird time of year to be scrapping Easter...but thats how I roll! Told you I pick my photos to scrap VERY randomly!

Hope all my blogger friends are ready for Xmas...only two more sleeps till the big man arrives! I can't wait and my house is feeling very festive at the moment, the kids can barely contain themselves. All the presents are wrapped, the xmas lights are on, the fridge is stacked (and so is the garage fridge with alcoholic refreshments!) with the only thing left to do being the fresh fruit & vegie shop in the morning.

So looking forward to Xmas Day this year and lunch with my family at lunch and relax time with Dan's family at night - loving the simplicity of Xmas this year to be honest. xx

Merry Xmas to you all if I don't post again before the big day, but I'll surely be back with Xmas Morning photos for my Mum as I do every year. Enjoy!

Scrappy Sunday

After not having a lot of time to scrap this past few weeks, I bit the bullet last night and set my scrapping up on the dining table with Channel V in the background, and Emma & San for company. Was a great relaxing scrappy night with three layouts done in the end...bringing me to a total of 399 layouts so far for 2010! I have posted on the forum for everyone to give me some challenge criteria for my 400th layout...and I will choose five from a hat to use. Head over and put in your two cents worth, just don't be too mean! :D

Anyhoo, here's what I came up with...

Soar Like A Butterfly - A page about me & San, our friendship and how we have to look out for eachother. xx

She Is My Emma - Bronte & Em and a photo showing the adoration bubby has for her big cousin.

Live In The Frame - Me & Lisa at last year's retreat, loved that frame! I used this month's Sold Out We're Savvy kit for this one.

Thanks for looking, off to another dinner out, it never ends this time of year!!

PS. I forgot to say that the page of Em & Bron is a scraplift from the current Scrapbook Trends magazine!! :D

Purple Challenge

So there has been a lot of talk of purple over on the Savvy forum of late - first with San setting a challenge for Wendy & Lou before sending Wendy a very generous purple pack of goodies just to get her going! Then Anthea decided to set us all a challenge to create a page using purple.

Now mine isn't OVERLY purple....but there is some and I had actually been putting this layout off because of all the purple in the actual photo...so I thought it was a great reason to get this one done!

I always end up with a double for the kid's school photos. As much as I hate doubles, there is just no avoiding it with these big photographs! I have used the WRMK Show & Tell range which just suited perfectly!

Can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with...speaking of which, I better go and create a gallery folder for this!

Ohhhh and don't forget!! Scrapbook Savvy is have a sale RIGHT NOW!!

More randomness...

Every time I look at my layout folders on my computer I realise what I haven't had a chance to share yet! Its shameful! You do know I'm only six layouts off 400 for the year...right now it doesn't feel like I'll get to that milestone with the busy-ness of my world...but I MUST and I WILL make time for some scrapping soon!

Our Grown Up School Aged Boy - I've just uploaded this one to my DT profile over at Savvy, I thought the layout that was there was looking a little outdated and this is one of my faves of late using the WRMK Show & Tell range which is just awesome for school photos.

Sandy Pups - my pups in the kids sandpit enjoying the cool using a recent sold out We're Savvy Kit.

She Reads To Me - Aunty Kaz reading to Georgie, an older one for Georgie's album, using the Crate Paper Restoration range which is nearly all gone so be quick if you want some, its a gorgeous versatile range which I'm just in love with. xx

Thanks for looking, back with more soon! :)

A Night With Jack Johnson

Oh my god, what a sensational night! Dan & I saw Jack Johnson in the Domain last night, and it was just awesome. I loved Jack's music already and we've seen him in concert once before, but this setting and outdoor concert just completed it for me! He was amazing, his stories and songs and lyrics and laughs and just everything!

This was the song that gave me & Dan goosebumps - Jack spoke about how he woke up on xmas morning and hadn't bought his wife anything, so wrote her this song instead.

Imagine that! The words in this song just make me & Dan look at eachother and smile - especially this bit:

"She could make angels
I've seen it with my own eyes
You gotta be careful when you've got good love
Cause the angels will just keep on multiplying"

Reminds us of our family and our wonderful little Bronte who surprised us and blessed us all at once with coming into our lives. :)

Here's us, enjoying our day and Jack on the big screen..

Another moment we totally loved was when Jack sang his version of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - explaining that he really didn't like the ending of the original song and so added a new verse, just to teach his kids that you need to say sorry when you've done wrong by someone. It goes like this...

A night we'll never forget - thanks Jack! xx

And thank you as well to my beautiful friends for the accommodation voucher I was given for my 30th birthday last month, we used it last night and stayed at the Metro on Pitt Street, right in the heart of Sydney! Just perfect.

Kit scraps...

As Donna asked in my previous post's comments, the pages that I do for my holiday albums are all made from KIT SCRAPS.

In my obsessive organisation for my own scrapbooking, I have page kits galore (80+ page kits made up at the moment) in a massive tote bag, each usually made up of a Savvy kit or made up by me from a set of papers with matching cardstock, alpha, embellies etc...with a range of photos to match the kit.

When I get to the 'dregs' of the kit with only scraps left...but still enough to do SOMETHING with, I pull out my holiday albums which are generally 6x12 or 8.5x11 and do a page.

This means my holiday albums get a variety of papers used throughout, and I do get them done eventually (as I know I have a tendency to ignore the holiday albums otherwsie).

Just my tip for the day. :D

Thank you friends!

For all your lovely comments....one innocent little post on the forum and look at all the comments you left me! Means heaps, thanks so much, mwah!!

And just cause there are STILL more, here are some random 6x12 holiday layouts...

Thanks for visiting!! xx

More from the new kits...

I've managed another couple of pages from the new release kits at Scrapbook Savvy, hope you like them!

Friends & Siblings - from the She's Savvy Kit and using a sketch from the Sketches 2 Scrapbook iphone app.

He's 63! - my Dad & Georgie blowing out the b'day candles last year, using the December We're Savvy Kit which is not sold out, and using another sketch from the Sketches 2 Scrapbook iphone app, I'm LOVING this at crops where I don't have my computer in front of me for inspiration.

In a bit of a funk, think I need an early night! Or some scrapping maybe....lets see which one wins out...

Random Share!

OMGoodness, in filing away my layouts on the computer into their relevant folders I have realised just how many layouts I have yet to share with you! So here's a couple, and I'll try to get caught up in the next week or so. :)

This one of Cooper's 1st Kindergarten Assembly using an Old School kit from SFS. I'm pretty sure this one was a sketch but I can't remember where from...

Some photos Cooper took of his lego. :)

And a page for Dan's album from the celebrations at the WIN Entertainment Centre the day after the Dragons won the premiership - CHOKE ON THIS!

Another happy scrappy day with our Tuesday Crop here at Scrapbook Savvy, some orders packed, ordering done and even a page managed by me for my 52 weeks album, but one that is a personal journalling page on some 'stuff' going on in my life this year...I won't be sharing that one here! Was nice to get it off my chest and onto paper though, gotta love journalling, its a diary in itself really.

Back soon with some more layouts, thanks for visiting! :)
